Society for Reaching the Unreached (SRU)
Society for Reaching the Unreached (SRU) is a Delhi-based not-for-profit organization. It was established in 2011 by a group of social development professionals at Kishanganj, Bihar aiming to increase the accessibility of opportunities and facilities to the most unreached and marginalized communities and individuals. Youth, women & children from People Below Poverty Line (BPL), SCs, STs, and minorities living in urban slums and rural areas of low-ranking districts on development indices our strategic targets for development.

At present SRU is implementing its projects in more than 40 districts of six states of India [Bihar, Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh] with the help of 8 full-time and 55 part-time qualified and experienced full-time/part-time professionals. At present, professionals at SRU have expertise in implementing community development programs on 1) livelihood skills, Life Skills and Employability Skills, 2) Health & Nutrition —Maternal and Child Health, Child Nutrition, Adolescent and Young People’s Health, and Communicable and Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), 3) Climate Change and Environmental Protection, 4) Critical Learning and Education
SRU is a Nodal Training Centre (NTC) for skill development of unemployed youth for the Garment and Apparel Industries through the Ministry of Rural Development (MoHD), GoI since 2012. Our NTC has trained more than 1200 unemployed youth as para-professionals for this Industry and more than 70% of our trainees are placed and sustained in this sector.
