In India, every 3 minutes, a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer and every 6 minutes a woman dies due to breast cancer. Approximately 70% of patients are diagnosed at very late stages because of a lack of regular screening and awareness.
YouWeCan is changing this by taking screening & awareness to a population level, so we can enable every Indian woman to get screened regularly. We are running a Pilot Project in partnership with the Government of Goa to screen 1 lakh women, approximately 50% of the state’s female population. The screening and treatment is completely free of cost. In the last 6 months, we have already screened 30,000 women and detected 9 cancer cases at very early stage, all of whom are under treatment.
Once this pilot project is done, our dream and goal is to expand this every state of the country so we can enable every woman to get screened regularly.
